From Krakow to Cyzon

A Short Documentary by Lindsay Maynard and Jennifer Roberts (2008). From Krakow to Cyzon is about Anna Cyzon and her grandmother Helena Czyszczon, who are both immigrants from Poland living in Toronto. Anna is a young, energetic woman who has fully integrated into Canadian life. She was a successful TV personality and is now pursuing a career in music. Helena lives a very different life in Roncesvalles Village. She does not speak English and is surrounded by her Polish traditions. The film is about how the two women from different generations relate to each other, to Canada and to their Polish heritage. While shooting the documentary, From Krakow to Cyzon, Lindsay Maynard and Jennifer Roberts were in Polonez, the local, Roncesvalles, Polish newspaper.
